Venessa Pugh

I came to printmaking by way of working as a designer-jeweller. I enjoy trying to straddle the interface between ‘Craft’ and 'Art' and the restrictions imposed by the nature of the materials I use. This could involve playing with acid on metal or allowing the grain of a wood block to determine the nature of a mark. Though the subject matter of individual images varies, most of my work explores the conjunction of mood and place.
