Maggie Warwick

Studied at the Royal College of Art and has shown work nationally and internationally. She is a member of the Printmakers Council. Recently I've been using steel plates (which hold colour pure) exploring overlays and viscosity printing, sometimes combining etching with collagraph. My inspiration comes mostly from the natural environment, maps, museums and art collections. I like bold shapes, textures and colours that evoke the atmosphere and history of a place or time. My work is not always literal but comes out of memories, thoughts and emotions, often long forgotten until they appear on the page. As part of my previous career I travelled extensively and the experience of different cultures and landscapes also feeds into my art.
