Greek Legends: tellings and retellings: Pandora.
The retelling of stories always sits in relation to other older stories and creates a jostling of memory and meaning. In the retellings of the creation myth of Pandora, the vase/womb, once the principle of nourishing nature and the source of all things, became a box and the source of all evils.
The sequence ‘Pandora’ is a retelling, involving ‘ghost’ prints of multiple plates and collage of fragments of previously marked tissue, remembering the vase/urn as a signifier of rebirth and creativity.
