Claire Hynds

Claire Hynds is a London based printmaker who has exhibited throughout London and the UK and has work in collections at the V&A and the National Museum and Gallery of Wales. A lecturer in printmaking at Kensington and Chelsea College and City Lit, Claire divides her time between this and her studio.

Inspired by the tradition of the New Topographics, Hynds’ work explores the ideals of urban planning with a special focus on the modernist aesthetic. Taking iconic motifs from this boom period of urban planning Hynds explores the possibilities of constructing space to create a false perspective and visual boundaries so challenging the viewers’ sense of space.
